Gelato couple to help PNG kids

PNG kids to get help from Cairns couple

A local couple who have booked a holiday on a cruise ship from Cairns to PNG have decided to help out kids in need during the stay in PNG. The owners of Devine Gelato, Loraine and John are asking for donations of any basic items that would help these kids with schooling.

The couple posted the following on the Devine Gelato Facebook page

"We are going on a cruise to Papua New Guinea Island On 2nd September. One of our customers who is a teacher asked us if we would take some pencils, exercises books, rubbers, rulers, pencil sharpeners over for her for the little children as they are very, very poor on two of these islands especially. John & I decided what a great idea so we are purchasing items to take as well. If anyone would like us to take any school items for the children we would be so happy to take it . If anyone has any small dictionaries or small readers it would be appreciated. You can drop items at our shop & we will package up for the children & Schools. We are really looking forward to our holiday. We can't wait to see their happy smiling faces.
Thanks Lorraine & John Devine"

If you can help, drop items at Devine Gelato in Aplin street before September 2.
