How much we'll be paying for Private Health Insurance?

The cost of family health cover could rise by up to $200 a year after the federal government gave the green light to a premium hike.

From April 1st, there'll be an average premium rise of 4.84% with the average weekly rise about $2 for a single person and $4 for families.
About 13 million Australians have private health insurance.

Triple M's Mark and Juanita spoke with Tom Godfrey, of consumer group Choice about the price rise and whether we need private health cover.

Tom also recommended consumers visit www.doineedhealthinsurance.com.au to really work out if paying private health insurance is a waste of money.
