The Central Coast Local Health District is adding a new crop of intern doctors to its workforce.
Between them, Gosford and Wyong hospital staff will train 65 fresh faces over the coming months - 36 and 29 respectively.
The new doctors will be welcomed by the District at Gosford Hospital at 9:30 this morning, along with Terrigal MP Adam Crouch, who's representing Health Minister Brad Hazzard.
"This is a very exciting time for these graduates," says Mr Crouch, "and under the State Government scheme, they'll be guaranteed employment for the next two years.
"Obviously during that time we hope they consider making the Central Coast their permanent home, especially given they'll be working in brand new state-of-the-art hospitals.
"We realize we're going to have significant population growth, and an aging population, which is why we're looking to ensure our hospitals have great doctors to go with them."
Hospitals are already one of the largest local employers, with over 3,500 people in the Robertson electorate (or 4.8% of the population) calling them their workplace according to the ABS.
