FINALLY: Right turns out of Blue Haven Way banned

But why did it take so long?

More than a month after it was planned to go in, and sadly 5 months too late to save the life of 20 year old Sally McNab, right hand turns out of Blue Haven Way at the notorious intersection with the Motorway Link Road have finally been banned.

RMS has blamed the wet weather in April and Easter school holidays for stopping it attaching two signs to existing posts and adding simple line marking.

The work took less than a day this week.

Ms McNab died in January when an elderly driver allegedly turned in front of the vehicle she was driving, forcing it into the path of traffic heading in the opposite direction....the 2nd death at the location in the space of months.

Residents have long argued over the dangers of using the intersection, which has virtually no merge lane for traffic turning left towards the M1 and is a 100 kph zone.

The construction of an Aldi supermarket and the suburb's continued growth has only added traffic volumes.

RMS is still reviewing the speed limit.
