A new website, and and drop-in centre have been launched to make sure Coasties have our say, on the state government's plans to revamp the Gosford CBD
The Go Gosford page of the Planning Department's ramping up a campaign to hear our thoughts on places, landmarks, and how to get more business into the CBD.
While we can hear about the government's plans and leave our feedback at the Central Coast Regional Plan Info Centre, which opened today on the corner of Mann and Donnison Streets.
Today, the State government architect met with Business and Industry Stakeholders at Gosford Golf Club, to hear about what development they think should and shouldn't come to the area.
Coordinator General Lee Shearer says they're refreshing the design frameworks for the CBD, as part of a plan for the Central Coast to 2036.
"The city of Gosford is absolutely key to the Central Coast region," Ms Shearer says.
"If we get it right here, we will see more jobs staying on the Coast, rather than all those thousands of people having to leave this region to go to work every day."
Ms Shearer says she now wants to hear form people from parts of the Coast OTHER than Gosford in particular.
The public has also been invited to participate in the GoGosford Photo Competition, conducted by the Department, to unearth the best photo of Gosford’s city centre. The competition comprises Open and Junior (12 and under) categories with entry via the GoGosford website.
