Central Coast Council has resolved to appoint it's top legal officer to the role of Acting CEO, following an extraordinary meeting in Wyong last night.
Brian Glendenning, currently General Counsel, will take over from Brian Bell, who resigned earlier this month due to health concerns.
Mr Glendenning will hold the position for up to four months, while Council recruits a permanent CEO or General Manager.
"I think last night's vote was a vote of confidence in the (Council) staff, with an internal appointment to the position," Councillor Greg Best said this morning.
"Brian has been with Council for around a decade. he really is a person that will deliver the answers without fear or favor, and that's what we need in this rather challenging period."
