Hazard Reduction Burns over the next few days

Coasties could be in for more sites like the one on Sunday, where a big plume of smoke wafted from a hazard reduction burn at Gunderman creek over Gosford.

The RFS's Central Coast District has announced more burns will take place from tomorrow with a 5 hectare burn planned for bushland off Wyee road at Doyalson between 9 and 5.

This'll be followed by a 5 hectare fire at Hue Hue road Jilliby and Brush Creek road Cedar Brush Creek on Thursday.

There may be some smoke and fire activity visible from local roadways during and after the burns, and the RFS suggests motorists should slow down and take care if driving through smoke.

Residents in affected areas (see below) can also make sure doors and windows are closed, remove washing from clothes lines and make sure their pets are in a protected area.
