Seven players and two staff members have left the Central Coast Mariners, after the club secured its second wooden spoon in three years this A-League season.
Just four days after suffering an 8-2 loss to F3 rivals Newcastle - during which the Yellow and Navy conceded the most goals of any club ever conceded in the tournament's history - caretaker Coach Wayne O'Sullivan and Strength and Conditioning Coach Balder Berckmans have had their contracts terminated.
While Liam Rose, Storm Roux, Jacob Poscoliero, Josh Bingham, Blake Powell, Peter Skapetis and Tom Glover have completed their playing careers with the Mariners.
Of the seven, Roux's been granted a release a year before his contract was set to expire to find another club.
While Glover's heading back to England to train with Tottenham Hotspur. The others have reached the end of their playing contracts with the club and they won't be renewed.
The shake-up gives new coach Mike Mulvey something of a clean slate to work with. Last week he stated his commitment to finding players he wants to represent the club.
While Mulvey's also defended owner Mike Charlesworth's perceived unwillingness to spend more of the salary cap in recent years.
