Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC joined community members at Lisarow Railway Station this morning, after receiving an invitation from resident Anne Love.

“Miss Love and the community have advocated strongly for Lifts and improved access for the less mobile people using Lisarow Station," Mr MacDonald said. "I appreciate hearing first hand how important this issue is to locals.”

He promised to follow up discussion with Transport Minister Andrew Constance and keep the community in the loop.

While next Tuesday, residents will rally at Tuggerah Railway station, also to appeal for the station to be made more accessible for the elderly and disabled.

EARLIER: Lisarow residents will meet with Parliamentary Secretary for the Coast Scot MacDonald this morning, to discuss the need for safety upgrades to the suburb's train station.

They're looking to improve the quality and number of crossings over the Pacific HJgihway to the station, as the State Government continues upgrades to make the road two lanes in both directions through town.

"They want to make it safer to cross the road there," says MP for The Entrance David Mehan, who'll also be in attendance.

"It's right near Lisarow High and Public Schools, so there are lots of children crossing the Highway at that location."

The meeting will run from 8 til 9.

Mr Mehan says it's a chance for the Government to prove they can deliver on local train stations.

"The state government has shown it's incapable of integrating improvements with the railway line and road network at the same time. That's why we need to keep yelling their ear."
