Man faces court after alleged sexual assault
UPDATE 3PM: The man has been granted conditional bail to reappear in front of the same court on December 5th.
EARLIER: A man will face court today after allegedly sexually assaulting a girl at a party at Tuggerah at the weekend.
Earlier this week, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad and Brisbane Water Local Area Command commenced an investigation after reports a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on a rural property on Sunday.
Following extensive inquiries, a 21-year-old man was arrested by investigators, with the assistance of officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command, at Tuggerah about 9.30am yesterday.
He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault – victim under 16.
Police will allege in court the man met the girl at a party on the property that evening, and sexually assaulted her on a number of occasions.
The Narara man was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court today.
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse and extreme cases of neglect.
