Finals Still A Chance But So Is The Wooden Spoon

The finals or the wooden spoon?

Incredibly both are still a possibility for the Central Coast Mariners heading into Friday's A-League home game against the equally struggling Wellington Phoenix in Gosford.

Coach Paul Okon says he can't question the team's work ethic, even as their win-less streak stretched to 11 games following the last start draw to a 10 man Adelaide United....a game the Yellow and Navy led 2-nil with half an hour to play.

With 21 points still on offer from their remaining games, both the Mariners (3 at home 4 away) and 'Nix can dream about finals footy, but for now, just getting ahead of the other on the ladder is the order of the day.

Kick off is at 7.50pm.
