McEvoy Oval upgrades complete

The $800,430 upgrade of McEvoy Oval in Umina Beach will finally be unveiled at 5 this afternoon.

Federal Member for Robertson Lucy Wicks says it was jointly funded by the Coalition Government ($304,000), New South Wales Government ($225,000), Gosford City Council ($258,430), Woy Woy Peninsula Little Athletics ($4,000), Peninsula Touch Football Association ($6,000) and Southern Spirit Cricket Club ($3,000).

"The upgrades started in February, and included the demolition of the old, rundown block, and construction of a new clubroom, canteen, storeroom, amenities, a verandah, landscaping and resealing of the carpark," Ms Wicks told parliament in Canberra last night.

"There's also a new irrigation system to help with the Oval's sustainability, and the project has created 10 jobs."

"More than 1500 people use this Oval every year - it will mean a lot. I'd also like to particularly recognise the incredible work of Kylie Brown, President of Woy Woy Little A's, who's been a true believer in this project from start to finish."
