Emergency crews are working to restore power to more than 5,000 customers after severe storms hit the Central Coast this afternoon. There have been multiple lightning strikes on equipment across the network.
Suburbs affected include Somersby, Peats Ridge, Spencer, Gunderman, Central Mangrove, Lower Mangrove, Mangrove Mountain, Calga, Kulnura, Mangrove Creek, Wisemans Ferry, Glenworth Valley, Greengrove, Kulnura, Wyong Creek, Wyoming, Lisarow, Holgate, Mount Elliot, Tumbi Umbi, Matcham, Killarney Vale, Bateau Bay, Wamberal, and Forresters Beach.

35mm of rainfall was recorded in 30 minutes at Mount Elliot (near Gosford) from 2:55 to 3:25pm.
Numerous suburbs also experienced hail.
