A surfer who was believed to be missing in surf off Shelly Beach has been located safe and well.
The man located about 5.50pm in Killarney Vale.
Police thank the community and media for their assistance.
3:30PM: A search continues for a man believed to be missing in surf off Shelly Beach.
Police were called to Shelly Beach about 1.25pm after reports that a 21-year-old man had gone missing while surfing.
He had entered the water about 12.30pm.
Police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended and commenced a search, with assistance from PolAir, Surf Lifesavers, the Westpac helicopter, and Central Coast Marine Rescue.
The man, whose belongings remain on the beach, is described as having dark hair, being of medium build, and he was wearing a blue swim shirt and board shorts with red trim.
He had a white surf board which has not been located.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.
