Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next Wednesday on Sparks Road at Warnervale for essential maintenance work.
Work will involve resealing the road between Albert Warner Drive and Virginia Road to provide a longer lasting and safer road.
Work will be carried out on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 April and be carried out from 9am to 3pm, weather permitting.
For the safety of workers and motorists, the westbound lane will be closed and a detour will be in place for light vehicles during work times. A sign-posted detour for light vehicles travelling westbound will be provided via Virginia Road, Warnervale Road and Albert Warner Drive.
Motorists travelling eastbound may be stopped briefly to protect vehicles during bitumen spraying and to allow large vehicles to pass.
Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic control and all signs including a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h.
Buses and vehicles larger than 4.5 tonnes and 4.5 metres high will remain on Sparks Road and will be given access every 5 to10 minutes along the eastbound lane.
All bus stops in this area will remain open for public transport users.
A 60 km/h speed limit will be in place for up to two weeks until new line marking work can be completed.
