Rockhampton Regional Council CEO Evan Pardon has asked that people not "jump to conclusions" after footage emerged of Council officers hitting pet dogs.
The incident took place in the yard of south-side resident, Aaron Jay Gulley. Mr Gulley says he's had Socks and Moo – a Border Collie and Staffy cross Bull Terrier – since they were small pups and insists they aren't dangerous.
Mr Pardon says an investigation into the incident has been launched. In the meantime, outraged citizens have called for the officers involved to be disciplined or dismissed.
