The Winners For The Sustainability In Action School Calendar Have Been Announced Rockhampton Regional Council | Councillors Ellen Smith & Cherie Rutherford with competition winners following official presentation at 2018 Tropicana event

Council has just announced the winners of the very first Sustainability in Action Calendar Competition!

The twelve schools from around the Rockhampton Region were selected for their efforts in tackling environmental issues through practical actions and solutions.

From making reusable bags, to learning how to look after creeks, tending to vegetable gardens and so much more, school students are setting an example that we could all learn from when it comes to environmental sustainability.

- Chair of Council’s Parks Committee, Councillor Cherie Rutherford

Throughout the competition, schools were asked to send through details and photos of their projects. The projects will be featured in the 2019 Sustainability in Action Schools Calendar, which will be available to the community from November.

Congratulations to all the participating schools! We look forward to seeing all of the winning projects in the calendar.
