Based on the river levels being recorded at Riverslea, the prediction for Rockhampton was updated on Monday morning. A major flood peak of 9.00 metres is likely at Rockhampton during Wednesday. This flood level is just under the
2011 flood peak.
The main flood peak in the Fitzroy system is now in the Riverslea area and Riverslea river level station is very near a peak.
Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Moderate flooding is occurring on the Dawson River at Knebworth. Flood levels will be maintained in the lower Dawson River due to high flows from the Mackenzie river.
The Dawson River at Baralaba has now fallen below the minor flood level (4.0 metres).
Don and Dee Rivers:
River levels have now fallen below the minor flood level (6.0 metres) in the Don River at Rannes.
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Minor to moderate flood levels are easing along the lower reaches of the Connors and Isaac Rivers.
Moderate flood levels are continuing to fall in the Isaac River at Yatton on Monday morning. River levels are expected to remain above the moderate flood level (9.50 m) during Monday.
Moderate to major flooding is occurring along the lower reaches of the Mackenzie River.
The Mackenzie River at Tartrus is currently at 14.24 metres and falling. A peak of 18.26 metres was recorded at 3 pm Friday, which is higher than the previous record of 18.19 metres recorded in 1958. The Mackenzie River at Tartrus is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (13.00 m) during Monday.
Major flooding is expected along the Fitzroy River downstream of Riverslea from Monday evening.
The main flood peak in the Fitzroy River is now at Riverslea. The Fitzroy River at Riverslea is currently 26.25 m and above the major flood level.
The Fitzroy River at Yaamba is currently at 13.80 metres and rising. The Fitzroy River at Yaamba is likely to exceed the major flood level (15.00 m) Monday evening. The river level is likely to peak near 15.90 metres Tuesday evening.
The Fitzroy River at Rockhampton is currently at 6.50 metres and steady. The Fitzroy River at Rockhampton is likely to exceed the minor flood level (7.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river level is likely to exceed the major flood level
(8.50 m) late Tuesday afternoon and is likely to peak near 9.00 metres during Wednesday.
