Beverly Naturalists Club

Hopes funding continues

Had the Beverley Naturalists Club president Phyllis Facey on this week who has nothing but praise for the work of the Department of Fire and Emergency Service (DFES) officers in reducing fuel load around Beverley.

DFES has been undertaking mitigation works in wheatbelt town sites and along the Avon River, to reduce the fuel load and bush fire risk this presents to the community.

Beverley Naturalists Club president Phyllis Facey said the officers helped the club protect Brooking Street Reserve.

Now with change in government, Phyllis is concerned that funding for the program might not continue in the future. Here’s hoping that it does remain
