RULES

WEEKLY WEIGH-IN - Merredin Fitness Centre
All contestants start weights and end weights will remain confidential.
Each participant must weigh-in once each week during staffed hours at Merredin Fitness Centre.
Yevgeny or Rosemary will be doing the weigh-ins.

While you measure weight and kilos lost each week, the competitive number is the percent of weight lost. That keeps things fair because some people need to lose a lot more weight than others.
Calculating percent weight lost is a better method for keeping things 'fair' because someone that is 120kg will be able to lose a lot more weight than someone who is 60kg. They may both be equally 'overweight' depending on their gender and height, but the total weight lost is not the way to compare progress. For example, if they both lose 10% of their weight, one will be down 12kg but the other only 6kg. Basing success on total weight lost instead of percent of total weight lost is misleading and not a fair method.
To get the % of weight lost we divide the weight lost by the initial weight multiplied by 100. So if the starting weight is 100kg and you lose 5kg, you would divide 5 by 100 giving you .05 then times that by 100 to get 5%. So, you lost 5% of your starting weight.

Thanks to Rosemary and Yevgeny at the Gym. Although there are entry fees they will make very little out of it as most of the entry money will be returned as prizes plus they will be doing heaps of extra work on weigh-ins and consults.

Good luck to everyone that’s going to give it a go :)
