Speeding Drink Driver Hits Power Pole

A man in his 20's returned a positive blood alcohol reading after losing control of his vehicle in Nambucca Heads.

At 1:05am on Sunday morning, police attached to the Nambucca Heads Highway Patrol attempted to stop a black Holden Commodore after it was detected travelling 80km/h in a 50km/h zone on Seaview Street in Nambucca Heads.

The 20 year old male failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit travelled through several local streets before the male lost control and collided with a power pole.

According to NSW Police, he was arrested and a roadside breath test showed a positive result.

The male was assessed by Ambulance staff who conveyed him to hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries.

A further blood sample was obtained and Police are awaiting the alcohol results.

The offender will be issued a Court attendance Notice for the initial speeding offence, as well as for Police Pursuit Drive manner dangerous.
