UPDATE:

Kevin James Scott will remain in custody following a court hearing in Coffs Harbour today.

The 73 year old was charged in relation to an alleged breach of the Child Protection Act over the weekend.

Triple M understand that Mr Scott appeared before Magistrate J Gibson today in Coffs Harbour Local Court where bail was again refused.

He is due to reappear on Monday 28 May 2018.

 

EARLIER:

A man has been charged in relation to an alleged breach of the Child Protection Act.

About 7:30pm on Friday night, 73 year old Kevin James Scott was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station following a report to local Police.

He was questioned and later charged with fail to comply with reporting obligations.

Mr Scott was refused bail and appeared at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Saturday.

Triple M understands that due to a hearing problem, he was then remanded to reappear in person at the same court on Monday 21 May 2018.
