Funding for the Coffs Harbour Bypass will be included in Tuesday night's Federal Budget.

Triple M Coffs Coast made the announcement this morning on their breakfast show with confirmation from Federal Member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker.

$971 million will be allocated to the project which will see 12 sets of traffic lights bypassed in the centre of the city as well as creating thousands of jobs.

Mr Hartsuyker told Moffee, "It's taken a long time to get here, but the money is committed and I look forward to seeing the work started just as quickly as we can".

The Bypass not only will benefit travelling motorists, but local traffic too.

"It's going to create jobs, it's going to mean faster travel times," Mr Hartsuyker said.

"But the great thing about the design means that locals will be able to use it to get around the city near Coramba Road, with a number of entry points.
