Action on the Ice Set to Heat Up at Big Banana

The cool action is set to heat up when the 7th Annual 3-on-3 Ice Skirmish returns to the Big Banana Ice Rink this Holiday long weekend!

The competition will be fierce,
providing exciting, entertaining hockey.

The Annual competition is now in its seventh year, originally started as a two-club match between Newcastle North Stars and Southern Stars from Brisbane.

Coffs Harbour and The Big Banana was chosen to host the event as the halfway meeting point for the 3-on-3 ice hockey weekend.

Ever growing, the tournament now includes seven clubs represented by 23 teams from NSW, QLD and
ACT. Players ranging in age from 5 to 15 years old in four different age divisions will play from the evening of Friday 29 September until Monday 2 October, totalling around 75 games.

Some 150 players and their families will descend on the Big Banana for a weekend filled with hockey and fun.

The 7 clubs represented this year are:
- Southern Stars (Brisbane)
- Newcastle North Stars
- Canberra Phoenix
- Norwest Emperors (Sydney)
- Liverpool Saints
- Gold Coast Grizzlys
- Brisbane Buccaneers.

Finals will take place on Monday morning with the Tournament highlight to close off the weekend, the Bantams Grand Final (14-15 age group) will be held from 11:55am.

All games are open to the public and entry is free.
