A decision has been made to euthanise a juvenile whale beached at Sawtell.
The whale was first sighted by local surfers on Friday morning.
Orrca, Dolphin Marine Magic and NSW Parks and Wildlife worked all day and night to care for the mammal.
They had hoped to refloat the whale this morning, however conditions were not suitable.
Lawrence Orel from NSW Parks and Wildlife told Triple M, that conditions meant that they wouldn't be able to refloat the whale for a number of days.
The beach had been closed all morning to the public.
