Two Coffs Coast men had a close encounter with a great white shark on Saturday.
Dave Barwise and Ken Gerke were kayaking off Urunga when the giant shark was noticed just metres from one of the men.
As Mr Gerke started to paddle away, the shark began to follow him.
Circling multiple times, both men were able to get vision of the creature both above and below the water.
Vision taken by Mr Barwise nearby shows the curious shark calmly swimming within a few metres from his mate's kayak.
On social media, Mr Gerke said, "Such an awesome experience, I've caught small Sharks in the past, had juvenile Bull Sharks cruise past the yak in local estuaries, but nothing like this Beast".
While breathing nervously at the time, Mr Gerke reflected on the experience saying "the fishing was slow, so this was an exciting way to cap off the morning".
