Dumped One Nation candidate Shan Ju Lin has spoken publicly about being stood down from the party.

On 106.3 Triple M Coffs Coast, Ms Lin spoke to Moffee via Facebook Messenger on Tuesday morning, explaining the recent events.

In the interview, she was asked whether she had regrets with her post on social media where say wrote “gays should be treated as patients, they need to receive treatments”.

Ms Lin told Triple M’s Moffee, “my regret is that English is my second language and I am not perfect at it”.

In the conversation she continues to claim that One Nation staffer James Ashby was one person who dis-endorsed her via Facebook.

“All candidates are unable to communicate directly with Pauline and can only speak with James Ashby.  He controls the flow of information to Pauline and back, and you can’t even check what Pauline has actually been told,” Ms Lin said.

As the President of the World Harmony Society, Ms Lin said she thought it was “totally inappropriate that the the World Harmony Society has been brought in to this as it is not related to my One Nation candidacy.  The society is completely separate and is non-political”.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale has since announced that Councillors in the city will not be providing the $5000 in funding towards the Harmony festivities in the city.

When asked if she believes that the society’s position against discrimination goes against her comments, and if she supported gay people, she said, “I don’t hate gay people”.
