In July, Ms Harvie returned a breath analysis of 0.324 at Coffs Harbour Police Station after officers discovered her behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.

In her previous appearance the court was reminded that the woman was also disqualified from driving until 2024.

On Tuesday afternoon Ms Harvie appeared before Magistrate Gibson who noted that this is her fourth prescribed concentrate of alcohol offence.

“Whilst the distant she drove was a short one, the manner of driving can be described as erratic”, Magistrate Gibson said.

“There needs to be a real message sent to others in the community that it won’t be tolerated to drink and drive”, he said.

While recognising that Ms Harvie is in need of help, she was sentenced to 18 months in prison with a 9 month non parole period.
