UPDATE:

A woman in her 30's trapped in a vehicle after it collided with a tree at Arrawarra has been freed.

According to NSW Ambulance, the woman is being transported to Coffs Harbour Hospital by road ambulance, rather than the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, suffering head injuries.

Emergency Services were called to the area at 8:50am on Solitary Islands Way.

A spokesperson from NSW Police said that two vehicle were involved, with the driver of the second vehicle understood to have fled the scene on foot.

Police continue to search for the person, anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

 

EARLIER:

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter is enroute to Arrawarra, north of Coffs Harbour, following a serious motor vehicle crash.

NSW Police and Paramedics, along with NSW Fire and Rescue have also been called to the scene on Solitary Islands Way.

The crash happened just before 9am.

In a release from the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, they say they have been tasked to the scene of a motor vehicle high speed collision into a tree.

NSW Ambulance say that the woman is trapped in the vehicle.
