Fake Money Used at Woolgoolga Servo
Police want to speak with this man.
Police are appealing to the community for information after counterfeit currency was discovered at a service station near Coffs Harbour on Monday.
About 6:30pm, a $50 note was presented to a cashier at the Woolgoolga service station to purchase a packet of cigarettes.
The cashier realised the note was suspicious and police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command were alerted.
Police believe that a man may be able to assist them with their inquiries into the counterfeit currency.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a fair complexion and medium build.
At the time of the incident he wore a dark hoodie, sunglasses, a white t-shirt and beige shorts.
The man is believed to have distinctive tattoos on the right calf and rear of the left ankle.
Investigators have urged anyone with information about this incident to come forward and contact police at Coffs Harbour or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
