A serious truck crash has the Pacific Highway closed northbound at Glenugie.

Emergency services responded to the crash south of Grafton just before 5am.

Initially both directions of the highway were closed, however southbound traffic has now reopened.

Northbound traffic are advised to use the Old Pacific Highway, with traffic banked back for kilometres.

According to NSW Police, the highway will be closed for some time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and delay their journey.

Police will continue to investigate the crash.

It's the second crash on the Pacific Highway this morning, after a truck left the road, before going across both lane directions of highway and coming to rest in scrub near Englands Road at Coffs Harbour South.
