Heavy Rain Headed Towards Coffs Coast

Heavy rainfalls are forecast for the Mid North Coast this weekend.
The Bureau of Meteorology has released a Severe Weather Warning for Heavy Rainfall stretching from the Northern Rivers down to the Hunter Region taking in Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Woolgoolga and Sawtell.
According to BOM, A low pressure trough along the NSW coast will deepen later today causing showers to increase in frequency and intensity.
The constant falls are expected to sontinue into Saturday.
More than 100mm of rain is expected in some areas over the next 24 hour.

PERSISTENT SHOWERS BECOMING HEAVY ABOUT THE MID-NORTH COAST TONIGHT
SYNOPTIC SITUATION:
A low pressure trough along the NSW coast will deepen later today causing showers to increase in frequency and intensity. This activity is expected to persist into Saturday.
HEAVY RAIN which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is expected over parts of the Mid North Coast, southern parts of the Northern Rivers and far northern parts of the Hunter forecast districts from late tonight, persisting into Saturday.
24 hour totals of in excess of 100mm is expected over some locations in this area from late tonight. Thunderstorms are also possible which may result in significantly higher rainfall totals.
Locations which may be affected include Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Taree, Kempsey, Woolgoolga, Sawtell, Dorrigo, Seal Rocks, Bulahdelah, Wingham and Nelson Bay.
