UPDATE:

A man has died in a single vehicle crash in Bellingen overnight.

Just before 11:30, emergency services called to Waterfall Way at Bellingen, after reports an overturned car was on fire.

According to NSW Police, the 18 year old male driver died at the scene.

Officers from Coffs Clarence Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

 

EARLIER:

Emergency services remain at the scene of a crash on Waterfall Way at Bellingen.

Crews arrived around 11:30pm on Sunday night, about 3km west of the township, near Hennesseys Lane.

Early reports suggest the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

Speed restrictions are in place and stop/slow traffic conditions are allowing motorists to pass in each direction, one direction at a time. The changes to traffic are expected to remain well into the morning.

Police from the Crash Investigation Unit are currently at the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
