Woolgoolga District Netball Association’s clubhouse is set for a major extension thanks to a $100,000 NSW Government grant.

On Saturday, Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser said the clubhouse upgrade would include new administration, control and meeting room facilities, and a new storage area.

“This is great news for the local club whose volunteers, including committee members, coaches and umpires, do such a wonderful job in running the association,” Mr Fraser said.

While the project will modernise the facilities, Mr Fraser added, “it will make the club more attractive to schools and the local community looking to get involved in the sport”.

The project is funded through the Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants program.

Minister for Racing Paul Toole said, “More than $50 million in funding is being provided during this current term of government for projects across sport and recreation, emergency preparedness, and arts and culture”.

“These grants are funded by a contribution from the state’s registered clubs to reinvest profits from gaming machines back into community projects”.

The program was improved in 2017 to give community organisations more chances to apply for a wider range of projects.

New funding ranges have encouraged more diverse projects, with a streamlined application process that cuts red tape and allows for faster assessment.
