A man accused of a Coffs Harbour shooting earlier this year briefly faced court on Tuesday.

The man appeared via video link before Magistrate Gibson at Coffs Harbour Local Court.

NSW Police allege that the man shot Nim Ngata on February 10.  He was then dropped at the Coffs Harbour hospital for treatment where he underwent surgery.

Mr Ngata is the son of John Ibrahim’s bodyguard, Semi Ngata.  Just months early, Mr Ngata’s father was shot in the back.

The accused man has been ordered to face a committal hearing on September 25 for discharging a firearm with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and will face sentencing for destroying property worth between $2000 and $5000.
