A 30 year old man has been arrested after police were called to the Coffs Harbour Railway Station on Saturday night after receiving reports of a man acting aggressively.

Police say the man was alleged to have been aggressive towards a female staff member who was forced to seek refuge and lock herself in an office.

The man has then broken through a door to gain access to the office, forcing the woman to retreat further into another secure room. He then allegedly smashed garden pots and tried to gain access to the room that the woman was hiding in.

Police arrested the 30 year old man at the scene, before he was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter, two counts of intimidation, common assault, malicious damage, affray and offensive conduct.

He was bail refused by police due to the risk to the community and appeared for a bail determination at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Sunday, 1 October 2017.

The female staff member was not physically harmed in the incident.
