A man will appear in court today after he was charged with 10 offences including discharge firearm in a public place at Bowraville on Sunday night.

Police were alerted after an incident at a Bowraville hotel, where a 30 year old man drove to a nearby street and allegedly discharged a rifle.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from the Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended a short time later and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 30 year old man in a motor vehicle on Monday afternoon in Blackberry Lane.

Police then searched a home in that street and allegedly seized cannabis seeds and cannabis plants.

A short time later, officers returned to the property and located a .22 calibre firearm that had been secreted in the grounds of the property.

The man was later charged with common assault, armed with intent, discharge firearm in a public place intimidate police officer, possess prohibited drug, cultivate prohibited plant, possess unauthorised firearm, use unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm and not keep firearm safe.

He was refused bail to appear at the Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday 10 January 2017.
