A man was arrested after investigations that three young children were being followed at Copmanhurst, north west of Grafton.

On Monday May 8, a report was made to police that the three children aged between 6 and 10 years old were allegedly followed and approached by a man in a white Ford Transit van Friday 5 May.

Grafton Police commenced an investigation, which saw a 73 year old man stopped at 3:20pm on Tuesday on Summerland Way at Junction Hill.

The Copmanhurst man was driving his Ford Transit van at the time.

He assisted police with their enquiries.

The man is currently on bail, with one of the conditions to not speak to children.

Following further investigations by Police, the man in his 70’s was arrested and charged with Breach of Bail.

He appeared on Wednesday 10 May at the Maclean Court where he was refused bail.
