A man with links to an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang in Coffs Harbour has been charged with a recent Airport assault.

In recent weeks, Detectives have been investigating the assault and affray incident at the Coffs Harbour Airport on 16 August.

It's alleged that a 33 year old man, arrived at the airport with another male and a young child. A minor incident occurred after the men and child walked out in front of a car driven by a man looking for a parking spot.

Once inside the airport, the 33 year old man has approached the driver and exchanged words, before he commenced to assault the man in the departure lounge whilst he was seated.

The 33 year old, who is understood to have links with a Coffs Harbour based Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, then fled the airport without boarding his flight.

It is alleged that the 33 year old went into hiding, whilst detectives commenced an investigation.

Working with Detectives from Strike Force Raptor, the man surrendered himself to Hornsby Police Station at 8:15am, Thursday 31 August 2017.

The man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

He was refused bail by police to Hornsby Local Court on that day due to the seriousness of the matter and risk to the community.
