Police are investigating after receiving two reports of men taking photos of children in Coffs Harbour.

The first incident was between 7am and 8am on Thursday, when two boys, aged 9 and 10 were walking on Argyll Street, when a man was seen taking photos of them.

The man then followed the children, causing them to take refuge inside a service station on the Pacific Highway. The man was last seen outside the service station.

The first man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, more than 188cm tall, skinny build, shoulder- length hair, with a tattoo on his shoulder/arm.

The second incident occurred between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday, when a man was sighted in bushes on Kurrajong Street taking photos of children.

It’s believed the same man matching the description of the first incident may have been a front-seat passenger of a 1980s or 1990s model black or grey-coloured hatchback with a possible registration starting with BZ. The driver has only been described as having a moustache.

Police believe the incidents are linked. Anyone with information is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
