The search for a missing Gold Coast boy has turned to Grafton after the boy was located safely this afternoon.

The 12 year old boy was allegedly abducted about 3:30pm on Friday  afternoon outside his home in the Gold Coast suburb of Mudgeeraba.

Witnesses say the boy struggled and screamed as he was dragged into a car.

Triple M understand that officers from the Coffs Clarence Police District in Grafton located the boy and a man in the vehicle.

According to Detective Inspector Mark Hogan of the Queensland Police, he is believed to have suffered no major injuries and was taken to Grafton Hospital as a precaution.

"He has some slight scratches that are consistent with being bound", Detective Inspector Mark Hogan said.

A 53 year old man is assisting police with inquiries.

Detectives from Queensland will travel to Grafton tonight with the family to reunite them with the boy.

Detective Inspector Hogan said that Police will seek an extradition of the man arrested by NSW Police on Monday.
