Coffs Clarence LAC have uncovered various drug offenders in Operation Bruiser, a drug operation in Coffs Harbour.

On Wednesday night, police from the command's Target Action Group, assisted by the Traffic & Highway patrol Command and State Protection Group Dog Squad ran the drug detection and Random Drug Testing (RDT) operation.

During the course of the operation police established RDT locations around the Coffs Harbour area, whilst also checking the XPT train services through Coffs Harbour Railway Station with a drug detection dog.

The operation proved to be very successful in detecting drugs and crime.

Coffs Clarence Crime Manager Detective Inspector Darren Jameson said, "these operations are a significant tool in our armory in tackling crime”.

During the course of the operation, a 42 year old man was found in possession of drugs, while a 49 year old man was found in possession of various drugs.

A man aged 51 was found to has suspected stolen goods in his possession, while an 18 year old man and a 55 year old woman both were found to have drugs in their possession.

As a result of positive RDT’s, a 23 year old man and a 20 year old woman were both suspected of driving with illicit drugs present.

"These operation will continue as we focus on driving down crime”, Det Insp. Jameson said.
