A report will be prepared for the Coroner following a fatal crash in Nambucca Heads today.

Police and emergency services were called to the Old Pacific Highway, near Florence Wilmont Drive just before 12pm following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a bus.

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the bus was treated for shock and was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

There were a small number of passengers on the bus at the time with no reports of injury.

A crime scene has been established and crash investigation unit officers and heavy vehicle inspectors have been requested to attend.

Investigations into the incident are underway and local traffic diversions are in place.

Emergency Services were called Nambucca Heads following an accident involving a bus and pedestrian.

The incident occurred just after midday on the Old Pacific Highway near Florence Wilmont Drive.

Traffic is slow in the area with alternating traffic management in place allowing motorists to pass one direction at a time.

Investigations will continue throughout the afternoon in the area.
