A man remains in Coffs Harbour Hospital in a critical condition after he was struck by a truck in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday morning.

About 5am, the man who was walking on the Pacific Highway at Korora, was struck by a Prime Mover.

Traffic was brought to a crawl while southbound lanes of the highway were closed for investigations.

According to NSW Ambulance, the male was treated at the scene by paramedics for upper and lower limb injuries and head injuries, then taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a critical condition.

The truck driver, a 37 year old man, was uninjured and conveyed to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command are investigating the crash and are yet to identify the man.

The highway was re-opened just after 8:30am, with traffic backed up to Moonee Beach.
