The design plans of the Coffs Harbour Hospital expansion have been revealed today.
The NSW Premier, Gladys Berejiklian unveiled the designs with Coffs Harbour MP Andrew Fraser at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
The new four level building will be in front of the existing main hospital entrance and emergency department, including a rooftop helipad.
Speaking on Triple M, the Premier told Moffee, "Not only is the population growing, but as locals will know you have an influx of tourists here, so you need to be able to scale up".
"You need to feel confident as a tourist that you can get the best health care if you need it", Premier Berejiklian said.
The Premier paid tribute to the hard work by local member, Andrew Fraser for being such a strong advocate for Coffs Harbour.
"I want to thank Andrew Fraser, because he has been bugging us like no other to make sure this happened", the Premier said on Triple M.
The Coffs Harbour Health Campus is the major referral hospital for the Coffs Clinical Network of the Mid North Coast Health District.
Construction on the much needed expansion will get underway prior to Christmas.
