The vigil continues for Ali Mosawi today, as Coffs Clarence Police will comb over Pebbly Beach for a fifth day hoping to find the Sydney teen.

Ali, 17, was last seen Saturday when it's believed he became caught in a rip.

The incident hospitalising one of his four mates also in the water, who recovered at Coffs Harbour Base for two days after the ordeal.

Police say they hope to bring closure to family today.

Meantime, there’s less than a week until Surf Life Saving patrols will finish up the season at our Coffs Coast beaches but as they’re still on guard, the rescue crews are urging us to stick to manned beaches.

Surf Life Saving’s Phillip Brent says tragedy at Pebbly Beach seeing renewed messages for us to only swim between the flags.
