Police Locate Body of Missing Grafton Teenager

Tragic news for a Grafton family just days before Christmas.

Police have confirmed that a girl who had been reported missing has been located deceased.

The 16 year old girl was reported missing from her home on Monday, after leaving in the family car.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command searched a number of locations but were unable to locate the girl.

The family of Emma Powell had taken to social media in a plea for her safe return, however, about 1:15pm on Thursday, the girl’s body was located at a reserve in Yamba.

A brief will be prepared for the Coroner.
