A man will face court on Monday after an alleged police pursuit in Coffs Harbour.

About 11pm on Sunday night, officers from Coffs Clarence Police District were patrolling on Earl Street when they sighted a white Holden Commodore Sedan allegedly travelling at speed.

Police initiated a pursuit of the vehicle when it failed to stop as directed.

The vehicle allegedly travelled through a number of streets before mounting a kerb and coming to a stop on Bonville Street.

The male driver allegedly attempted to flee the vehicle.

After a struggle, police arrested the man and he was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

He was charged with police pursuit, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and resist officer in execution of duty.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court.
