A male driver has attempted to mask a positive test to methamphetamine after being stopped south of Coffs Harbour. 

On Wednesday, RMS and Police from the Traffic Task Force conducted stationary enforcement at the Pine Creek Heavy Vehicle Inspection Station on the Pacific Highway.

The man was one of 58 people breath and drug tested during the day.

According to NSW Police, he tested positive to methamphetamine after attempting to mask his sample with a dashboard cleaner. The man was issued with a 24 hour prohibition notice not to drive.

A second man was also issued with a 24 hour prohibition notice not to drive after he returned a positive test to cannabis following an oral fluid sample.

Meanwhile, a driver from Sydney was issued with infringement notices for a dimension breach, work hours and work diary breaches. The second time in just over a month.

Police also stopped a male truck driver on the highway after he failed to enter the inspection station after being directed to enter. He was issued with infringements for fail to enter and container weight offences.

Across the day in total, 44 infringement notices were issued.
