More than 1200 homes are without power in Coffs Harbour tonight.
Residents in Mackays Road, Apollo Drive, Bray St, Wills St and surrounding areas lost power just after 10pm.
Crews are currently investigating the outage.
One witness in Apollo Drive told Triple M, they "heard something cross the mains power lines down the street. Sounded like the main transformer went bang".
It's unknown when the service will be restored.
Meanwhile, around 200 customers in Woolgoolga are without power following a fire at a business in Featherstone Drive.
